Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
Always looking for an easy out,
Never understanding when to Doubt,
It’s taken everything I have to say,
Finally hit the ground
Look at everything I’ve done for this,
Fire escapes are where we’re gonna live,
When everything else fails to give,
I need you so bad
Hearing all these voices,
Screaming in my ear,
Stop turn the volume up,
Tell me what we’re doing here,
I’ve been left here waiting,
For nothing at all,
But you don’t give a damn
Closed you’re eyes before you hit the break,
Slightly blind I’ve never been so straight,
The time it took for us to barely say,
We have gone too far
Take me back to when time stood still,
The exact moment when you got your fill,
Intently staring for your eyes to say,
Dreams do fade away
Hearing all these voices,
Screaming in my ear,
Stop turn the volume up,
Tell me what we’re doing here,
I’ve been left here waiting,
For nothing at all,
But you don’t give a damn
Life moves forward you can’t stop time,
The constant hope is to get out alive,
You’ll run races past the finish line,
Your heart holds more than pain
Shadows stretch toward your horizon
Sometimes they call you on
Let’s break down the wall they’ve built between us
Maybe we’ll fall in love again
Look at the subtle differences between us
It’s the silence that keeps us up at night
Climb all the fear your mind’s created
And maybe we’ll fall in love again
Moments built for nothing like a bridge built for a flood
Who am I to change the plan?
Whose hands will hold the blood?
Screaming ‘til the meaning’s lost
Falling, but you can’t let go
Wrongs define our day and night
Tell me is there room for love
Well maybe we’ll fall in love again
Look at both sides of the spectrum we’ve created
There’s a dim light that just shines on through
In the darkness when your world’s crumbled around you
Remember we can fall in love again
There’s a heart beat in the center of the madness
Screaming, “Save me,” but I’m too far away
If we hold on to every last tomorrow
Then maybe we’ll fall in love again
This is seriously the most amazing song I’ve heard in awhile…The best thing he’s written and it’s not even comedy….Listen to this!
Nice question, and yes
Performance I did of my song “Surrounded By Stone (Love Love Love)” Hope you enjoy…Thnx Justin for posting
“Surrounded By Stone (Love Love Love)” by Matthew Drew of Slang of Ages. Recorded live last Thursday at The Big Sauce Radio Show in Boston.
This is a strange time, A building period. Everyone seems to be misguided lately, I’ve seen myself off track as well. I feel everyone is waiting for something, Like everything is just going to be in time.
The other day I ran into an old friend from high school, We got to talking about the future…There was just this blank look in his eyes, Like an ignorance to the future. What scared me the most is that so many people in the world have the same blank stare. Sometimes I wish I’d have that blank stare, how simple life would be…I live in the future…I worry.
Sadly the small towns make up most of this country, Because they will kill people like me. People who have something to say, Just no place to say it. I’ve made my list on getting out of the small town, You should do the same.
That blank stare haunts me…
“Theres a cloud in my head
I’m so lonely here”
I feel like a lot of people need to hear this right now, a lot of people think they have it a lot worse than they do…
A baby
This seemed liked a good first post. Amazing song.
